Ubiquitous computing, or pervasive computing, is revolutionizing the way we interact with our living environments by embedding computational intelligence into everyday objects and systems. In smart homes, this technology creates interconnected, intelligent ecosystems that enhance comfort, security, and efficiency. Our research in ubiquitous computing focuses on developing and integrating advanced sensor networks, machine learning algorithms, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices to create adaptive, context-aware home environments. These smart systems learn and anticipate user behaviors, automate home settings for personalized experiences, and ensure robust security to safeguard user data and privacy. Additionally, we explore the social and ethical dimensions of smart home technologies, addressing issues like data ownership, user autonomy, and accessibility. By advancing ubiquitous computing in smart homes, we aim to improve the quality of life for all inhabitants, making everyday living more intuitive, responsive, and sustainable.
